Information about Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback at Berry Wellness Group

Train your brain toward calm, focus, and better self-regulation.

Neurofeedback, also called brain training, is a gentle, non-invasive way to help your brain learn healthier patterns through real-time feedback.

What Is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback works by tracking brainwave patterns and giving the brain real-time information while you watch a movie, listen to audio, or play a game. When your brain moves toward a more helpful state, the feedback becomes clearer or smoother, helping the brain learn through practice.

We use a whole brain training approach, meaning we work with the brain as a complete, interconnected system instead of focusing on one isolated symptom.

Common goals Stress reduction, focus, sleep support, emotional regulation, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and insomnia symptoms.
Session length About 60 minutes, including setup, training, cleanup, and progress review.
Program rhythm Typically 30-40 sessions, 2-3 times per week, for lasting pattern development.

Information About Neurofeedback

This short video offers additional context on neurofeedback and how brain training can support healthier patterns over time.

How It Works

Gentle sensors are placed on your scalp or forehead to measure brain activity. The sensors observe only; they do not send anything into your brain or cause any sensations.

Brainwave patterns are connected to how you feel and function in the moment. Some patterns are linked to deep relaxation, others to focused attention, and others to high-alert fight-or-flight states.

Over time, your brain learns to maintain healthier patterns naturally. Like building strength or learning an instrument, consistency matters.

Getting Started

Your Training Path

01

Evaluation

We begin with a comprehensive assessment. Depending on your goals, a QEEG brain map may be used to better understand your brainwave activity and how it may be impacting mood, performance, and daily life.

02

Treatment Plan

Based on your assessment, we design a custom neurofeedback protocol tailored to your needs and goals.

03

Brain Training

Training begins with a consistent schedule. Many people notice changes within the first 10 sessions, while others experience gradual shifts over several weeks.

Commitment Required

Whole Brain Training may include both HEG and QEEG-based training. The program usually requires 30-40 sessions, typically held 2-3 times per week. Sessions last about 60 minutes.

We recommend avoiding video games during your training program, as they can interfere with the progress your brain is making. If you are taking medication, coordinate with your healthcare provider.

Before Your Session
  • Eat a small, nutrient-dense meal if your session is within an hour.
  • Limit caffeine and sugar intake before training.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and bring a sweater or jacket if you get cold easily.
  • Remove head or neck jewelry, headbands, or ponytails.
  • Minimize makeup on the forehead and avoid heavy hair products.
During and After the Session

A soft cap is placed on your head, and small sensors inside the cap are connected using a gentle saltwater solution to ensure good contact.

Most people start noticing changes within a few sessions. In some cases, improvements take longer, especially when addressing more complex goals. Open communication helps us adjust training as needed.
